From the Principal's Desk

Dear Elmwood Families,

Thank you to all the volunteers and PATT board members for their work with the Holiday Shoppe! The kids had a wonderful time and we hope that the gifts they purchased will bring smiles to all your family and friends. Want to get involved with our PATT, we have a coffee with the principal on Tuesday Dec. 19th @ 9am. We will touch base about the upcoming school year and plan for the second half. We look forward to seeing many families at this opportunity.

We have some exciting events coming up over the next two weeks so please be sure to read through the Express. This includes the 1st/2nd grade music concert, holiday activities, and an opportunity to donate back to our community.

With the holidays approaching, we ask you to keep your child's school attendance in mind. Any student who misses more than 10% of the school year is considered chronically absent. If your child's attendance meets this criteria, you will be notified by the school. It is imperative that kids are at school to learn each and every day

And finally, as the holiday season approaches, they can be a time of relaxation, fun and family. But for some, the holidays bring additional stress and worry. If you find you or your family in need of support this holiday season, we are here to help. Please contact Mrs. Hagins or myself if there is something you need this season. We have a number of community partners that help. If you feel more comfortable you can also contact Mrs. Carin or Dr. Perez-Santana, our school social workers, or Ms. Christensen, who is our ALOP support for 4th and 5th grade students.

As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas, please do not hesitate to reach out. Thank you!

Mr. Lerner & Mrs. Hagins

Donation Opportunity

Please consider donating to our Toiletries Drive for our community! All items we collect will be delivered to our local church and used for people in our community. Take this time to give back during the holiday season.

We still have some spirit wear available in the office! You can purchase long sleeve or short sleeve t-shirts ( we also have limited quantities of sweaters left! If you haven't had a chance, please stop by the office to purchase yours!! We have t-shirts, long sleeve shirts and a limited quantity of sweaters left! Please note, these are on a first come first serve basis so once we are out, we are unable to complete any more orders. If you send in the money, or stop by the office, we try to fill the order and send the t-shirt home with your child the same or next day. It is a great gift for the holiday season. You can also purchase spirit wear by using the website.
